### Sentiment Measurement

1. **Crypto Fear & Greed Index:** Composite of volatility (25%), market momentum/volume (25%), social media (15%), surveys (15%), BTC dominance (10%), and Google Trends (10%)

2. **Scale:** 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed)

3. **Historical context:** Below 10 = capitulation. Above 90 = euphoria.

 

### Entry Criteria (Buy the Fear)

1. Crypto Fear & Greed Index drops below 15 for 3 consecutive days (sustained extreme fear)

2. BTC RSI(14) is below 30 (oversold confirmation)

3. BTC is within 20% of its 200-day SMA (not in complete free-fall)

4. Enter long BTC at the daily close

 

### Exit Criteria (Sell the Greed)

1. Crypto Fear & Greed Index rises above 85 for 3 consecutive days (sustained extreme greed)

2. BTC RSI(14) is above 75 (overbought confirmation)

3. Sell 50% of position; trail remaining 50% with 15% trailing stop

 

### Stop Loss

- Exit if BTC drops 20% from entry (fear can always get more fearful)

- Maximum position size: 5% of portfolio in any single crypto trade
